Looking for a bar in Bugis? Joo Bar is a Korean bar in a heritage shophouse at 5 Tan Quee Lan Street — one of Bugis’ best spots for drinks, Korean anju, and a night out that doesn’t feel like everywhere else.
A Korean Bar in the Heart of Bugis
Bugis has no shortage of bars, but Joo Bar occupies a different lane. We’re not a club, not a rooftop, and not a hotel bar. We’re a ground-floor heritage shophouse with low lighting, bold Korean food, house-brewed makgeolli, and the kind of atmosphere that makes a Tuesday feel worth celebrating.
The drinks programme is anchored by our house-brewed makgeolli — Singapore’s only in-house-brewed Korean rice wine. We also carry a curated Korean spirits list alongside cocktails built around Korean flavours.
Drinks at Joo Bar
- Makgeolli — house-brewed, original and seasonal flavours
- Soju cocktails — Korean spirits mixed with local and Asian ingredients
- Korean beer — Hite, Cass, and craft Korean options
- Korean highballs — whisky and soju-based long drinks
- Soft options — Korean canned teas, Yuja citrus drinks
Food at Joo Bar
Drinking in Korea is inseparable from eating — anju (drinking food) is the whole point. Our kitchen serves Korean bar food designed to be shared: jeon (savoury pancakes), bossam, kimchi jjigae, tteokbokki, and a rotating selection of seasonal dishes.
Everything on our menu pairs with makgeolli and soju. Nothing is an afterthought.
